The Government's annual week of prayer and fasting officially ended last week Friday, with a service held at the Government Prayer House.

The service was attended by the honorable Head of State, Afioga Tuimalealiifano Vaaletoa Sualauvi II, Council of Deputies member Afioga Le Mamea Ropati Mualia, Deputy PM Tuala Tevaga Iosefo Ponifasio, Members of Cabinet, and Members of the Diplomatic Corps. The service was also attended by Government ministries, including our Samoa Audit Office.

Originating under Tofilau Eti Alesana's administration, our annual week of prayer and fasting was born out of the aftermath of cyclone Ofa in 1990. It has since become a symbol of our nation's unity and faith through adversity.

The special service was led by Rev. Dr. Eteuati Tuioti, the General Secretary of the Methodist Church of Samoa, with the message to live wisely.
